Wednesday:

WV Studies:  Today we continued our lessons on settlement.  Assessment on the Explorers is due Friday (see Mondays post for a link to the directions).  Today we introduced the I-pads. we learned how to make folders, close apps. and looked a frontier images with the topics of class.

Math:  Math 1 and 8 both worked with I-pad functions for Math class.

Language arts: Discussed how to download apps, close out apps to save battery, and layer iPads. If students were unable to get the 2 apps downloaded in class that they need, it would be great if they could download them at home. If not, we will get it taken care of. The apps are New-O-Matic (a free, daily news app for kids) and Free Books 23,469 (also free). Rough drafts for the argumentative essay ARE NOT due tomorrow.

Reading: Students set their Lock Screen with a picture of them and a back drop that reads Property of Milton Middle. This must stay their lock screen. Student did a great job today. Keep up the good work.

Science: Today we started "Settings". There is a lot to cover so we will be working in this section along with a checklist for the rest of the week. Today was awesome! Our first day went off with minor interruptions and I was pleased to see so many of our students helping each other! Some topics that were covered today were: "About" and storage capacity, turning off keyboard clicks, Ringtones, Siri settings and setting a complex passcode (one that is not 4 digits). Please encourage your child to write down their passcode somewhere safe at home (where you and your child have access to it).
