Here are your daily assignments:

Language Arts: Finish Embedded citations worksheet.

Social Studies: Citizenship poseter due tomorrow!

Math: We should be finishing up our stained-glass window project tomorrow! Alg. 1 has Pg. 366 #18-20, here's a hint for #20.

20. Use the distance formula d = rt. Let the time of the outgoing trip be t, this would make the time of the return trip 1 3/4 - t.

So, the outgoing trip would be modeled as the equation 45 = rt

The return trip would be modeled as 45 = (3/4r) (1 3/4 - t)

Since both equations are equal to 45, you can set them equal to one another and solve for t. Remeber once you find t to plug it into the equations and find the rate of speed for both trips.

Mrs. Conner wants to remind everyone that they need to have their Study Guides completed for tomorrow's class! Also, I would like to introduce my clinical student this semester: Ms. Katie Heindl who will be taking over my class as part of her student teaching next week. Ms. Heindl will be with us until the beginning of March. The students and I are very excited to learn from her and get to know her these upcoming weeks!

Language Arts: Finish research worksheet if you didn't already! Math: Regular classes have Pg. 497 #3,10-15. 4th period has Pg. 436 #10-17. Alg. 1, here is your help on number 6... Number 6 talks about two different companies and how many employees they have. It tells you the DIFFERENCE between the number of employees the businesses have and how many employees they have TOGETHER. First define your variables, then write you equations to look something like this: Company 1 + Company 2 = total employees Company 1 - Company 2 = difference of employees Good luck and Goodnight!!

Tuesday's gone!! Tonight there is orientation for all 8th graders at the school. If all the stuff your kids brought home made no sense or if you just want to make sure you understand everything then tonight is the night for you! You will also have the opportunity to meet with your child's counselor. This all will take place at the CMHS auditorium at 6pm.

Ok guys, big week ahead of us! Today the Counselors from Cabell Midland came and introduced the students to different clusters and majors that will help them select their classes for next year. If you have any questions about this feel free to call the school and talk to the counselors here. Make sure to look through the course booklet your child brings home, it outlines all the classes and explains all information. They will be back on Thursday to collect the schedules. Make sure you have them filled out by then!! Boys and Girls have games tonight vs. Huntington Middle. Girls are at home at 5:30 and 7. The boys are away at 5:30. There are also basketball games on thursday and friday this week!

Science: You will have a test next Thursday 1/19.

Social Studies: Chapter 9 E & R Writing assignment due this Friday 1/13.

Welcome Back!!!! It's going to be a busy week right off the start. Tonight the guys basketball teams host Winfield. Tomorrow it's the girls turn. Both nights games are at 5 and 6:30. Friday the first payment for DC is due. I want to encourage both parents and students to attend the trip to DC. It is a blast every year and we enjoy getting to know students and parents on a more personal level, plus the trip is very educational. My favorite part every year is getting to see George Washington's old stomping grounds. He invented a chair with a fan that cooled him off when he worked a foot pedal, you'll get to see that and much more!

Here are your daily assignments:

Math: Regular classes have no homework, ask your kids about buying Playstation Games. Algebra 1 has Pg. 336 #16, 18, 19.

Reading: Complete questions on Underground Railroad.

Social Studies: Bring back the names of 5 candidates for President.

Science: If you did not turn in your project today, you can turn it in tomorrow for half credit.
