Math1: 6-2 worksheet on systems

Language arts: Discussed the new descriptive/narrative essay. Students did a prewrite activity and turned it in.

WV Studies: Test on Labor Movement tomorrow. Students need to use their labor movement notes, vocabulary list, and the web quest link they received in class today.

Reading:  Test Friday

Science  Test on Ecology vocabulary on Tuesday.  Tomorrow we will take notes on the Nitrogen Cycle.

WV Studies-  Mr. Whitt administered the Golden Horseshoe test on computer today, I covered his classes, students worked on a handout on double negatives.

Monday:  Back to School.!  yea!!!

WV Studies-  tomorrow students will take the Golden Horseshoe test on the computers, Mr. Whitt will conduct the test since I am not allowed to.  We finished up the DBQ packet today. If students did not finish the packet it is homework and is due tomorrow 2/24/15.

Math 8: study guide today over transformations. Test is tomorrow

Thursday:

WV Studies-  Students worked on their DBQ packet questions.  Some classes began the argumentative essay question some did not.  Tomorrow we go to the play, so we will come back to the lesson and finish Monday.  Test Tuesday!!!!

Science - Students worked on Vocabulary Worksheets today which will be due on Monday.  Tomorrow is the trip to see a play in Charleston at the Clay Center.  Every student is to bring materials to work on a poster of a food web on Monday.

WV Studies-No Homework

Math 1: vocab test
math 8: review worksheet on transformations. If they don't finish they are to finish for homework. Then scavenger hunt tomorrow

Language Arts.-   Finished speeches, then CLOSE reading- No Homework.

Science - Chapter 4 test was today.  If your son/daughter missed the test it can be made up at lunch time tomorrow or next week on Tuesday or Thursday.  We will begin Chapter 5 tomorrow and students will be working on a vocabulary list for that chapter.

Tuesday:

WV Studies-  Students took the essay portion of the Golden Horseshoe test today.  It is used in case of a tiebreaker on the online portion of the test which they will take later.  After the test Ms. Boardman gave them a 4 word vocabulary assignment.  It will be due tomorrow at the beginning of class.

Science   Ecology test tomorrow in class.  All students must have their permission slips turned in for the Clay Center Trip.

Language arts: Finished up speeches and did a class reading of "Hearts and Hands" by O. Henry if time allowed.

Reading-  PAWS Trip activities - No Homework!!!

WV Studies-  Students worked on a handout on Chapter 2 of the Civics Book on the foundations of American Government.  It was 23 questions and worth 100 points.  Those on the trip were excused from the assignment so they will have an X for the grade on ed-line (that means exempt from the grade)  Monday Ms. Boardman, the Marshall Student Teacher will start her unit.

Thursday
WV Studies-  Students turned in their summary posters on The rise of Unionism in WV.  We began our next lesson on the progressive era with an I-pad activity.  PAWS trip tomorrow so we will work out of the civics book.  No Homework!!!

Science - Mid-Terms will be coming home tomorrow.  In Science we are just finishing the work in chapter 4.  We will have a quiz on chapter 4 next week. and then begin chapter 5 which continues to deal with ecology

Wednesday
WV Studies-  Took survey about college.  Finished lesson on Rise of Unionism, -  Students need to complete poster assignment on Unionism, due at the beginning of class tomorrow.  Students also have a vocabulary bell ringer quiz on the terms, ethnic, prejudice, recruited, and Jim Crow Laws.

Math 1: lesson 2 vocab and read the next section. Vocab quiz is next Wednesday
Math 8: translation worksheet that was due at the end of the class

Reading: Be sure to have quiz wizard turned in.  Vocabulary needs to be finished by Friday.

Language arts: 3rd period worked on creating new email accounts.
                         Other classes began presenting their speeches.

Tuesday: 
WV Studies-  Grades were updated last night, Ms. Underwood should upload to ed-line this evening.  Today we worked on the development of labor unions in WV in the 1880's and 90's.  No Homework.

WV Studies-  Students took the Test scheduled for Friday on Reconstruction.  On the  essay portion they could use their notes and graphic organizers.  If that part was not finished in class, it is to be completed and turned in tomorrow at the beginning of class. 

Language arts: Finished outlines and transferred information from outlines to notecards. Some students will give their speeches tomorrow.

math 1: finish U4-27 and start u4-39. both are due Wednesday at the start of class. STAR test tomorrow
math 8: Translations p340 #6-10 due at the end of class. STAR test tomorrow

Science:  Finish Question 1-29;  We will be doing a small group activity in class tomorrow.
