WV Studies- Finished up 1920's then began lessons on WWII. Tomorrow we will go to the library for Mr. Thompson's living history presentation on WWII.
Math 1: we did vocab on lessons 5 and 6. they need to be studying vocabulary for unit 5
Math 8: quiz on systems
Science: Today students went over the study guide answers and played the heads up game for the vocabulary. Tomorrow is the TEST. Study guides are due one last time for credit. Also, I will be checking notebooks while students are testing. HOMEWORK: Study for test tomorrow and make sure you have your rubric for the notebook check.

WV Studies- finished life in the 20's and began coal politics and the events of the mine wars in the 1920's. No Homework.
Science: Today students worked on their study guides for half the class after we did the bellringer and turned in their jigsaw sheets along with it. I graded them on completion and students got them back. We started reviewing for the test on Friday. Tomorrow we will finish the study guide review and then play heads up game. No homework.
Language arts: Reviewed paraphrasing and summarization. Read an article together and students summarized and paraphrased parts of it. Students turned in their work and only have homework if they didn't get the work finished in class.

Science: Today students worked in their home groups on section 3 of Ch. 18. Tomorrow they will finish up with their expert groups and we will go over momentum practice. Also, students will get their study guides tomorrow halfway through class. They are due halfway through class on Wednesday. THE TEST IS ON FRIDAY! No homework tonight.

WV Studies- Students turned in their Bell Ringers and Posters for Mr. Francisco. We began our lesson on the 1920's today. We started out by doing an activity about the Great Depression and collected it for a grade. Next week we will look at the 20's.
Science: Today we took a Bellringer quiz. Students were able to finish their labs and scavenger hunts for 10% off. I gave out the notebook check half sheets and will check notebooks Monday. There is a test on Friday on Motion and Momentum. Study guides will be given out on Tuesday.

Math 8: p.513 #10-19
Reading: If you did not get vocabulary please finish and turn in immediately. Was due last week. If you are finished: NO HOMEWORK! Have a great sunny weekend.

Science: Today we worked on finishing up the scavenger hunts and speed challenge labs from yesterday and Tuesday. Quite a few students didn't work on it at home and didn't finish the lab, but had to turn it in anyway. Students who were at the band festival need to turn in their labs tomorrow for full credit. We got started on a Momentum Jigsaw that we will continue tomorrow. Tomorrow is a BELLRINGER QUIZ for the last 3 weeks of bellringers (starting from when I came back to now). THERE IS A TEST NEXT FRIDAY ON MOTION AND MOMENTUM to finish up the unit before standardized testing. Homework: Absent or Band students need to finish their labs

Social Studies: Read 1970s section of the textbook and a newspaper article from the Marshall plane crash. Discussed how 1970s culture is similar to today's culture.
Science: Speed Machines W.S. was due today for PAWS students (It was due on Friday for everybody else). I am still missing a lot of grades....students need to turn these assignments in ASAP for credit (check edline). Today we did graphs 1 and 2 for acceleration and started a speed scavenger hunt. No homework!

Science: Students who didn't go on the PAWs trip took notes on 18.1 and 18.2 p 522-532 and turned it in. Those who were eligible worked on work for another class if they stayed behind. The speed machines worksheet was due for those who were here. It is due on Monday for PAWs kids.
HOMEWORK: Speed Machines (PAWS only) due Monday
WV Studies - Students not on the trip worked on an assignment about how our political system works from the civics book. It will be graded this weekend and be worth 100 pts. Those on the trip or absent from school will be exempt from the assignment.

Reading- Worked in conjunction with the social studies assignment, students had 2 class periods to read and complete the 100 pt. Handout.

WV Studies- Due to continued problems with the internet, the e-books project submission date has been extended. Once the problems are straitened out, I will set a new due date.
Internet problems again halted the started of the Prezi activity. Because of this, we brainstormed as a class again with ideas for our section on the 1960s after creating a graphic organizer based on the section of the textbook.
Science: Today the labs were due for half credit. We went over the book questions (back of p. 52 in notebook) and finished up graph 3-4 (acceleration) and turned it in. Students got a speed machines worksheet which is due tomorrow for those not going on the PAWS trip. It is due Monday for PAWS students. HOMEWORK: SPEED MACHINES
