Hello, here are your class updates!
Math: Finished practice benchmark; take the real benchmark tomorrow.
English: In text citations and partner research project; no homework.
Social Studies: Students are studying the great seal of WV. They had an assignment (ten symbols from the great seal). Their homework is to create their own seal that represents them. It must have five symbols.
Science: Their chapter 20 outlines were due today. Tomorrow is the last day that I will take these late since we worked on them two days in class (absent students get an extra day). Today students took the benchmark. Some did better than others and also some students really took their time in completing it and doing their best (which I appreciate!) The benchmark was for a grade; participation and score were the basis for their actual grade. Students also did a half sheet on Newton's 2nd law (F=ma) for homework. The 7 practice problems are due tomorrow.
Reading: Compared and contrasted Fact or Fiction from the Drummer Boy story. 5th period: Just happening book. Don't forget to do your nightly reading and put it in your AR book. Also, you have about 2 weeks left to take your A.R. test! Don't forget!
Stay dry and have a great evening!

Hello students! Welcome back! Here are your class updates:
Science: I gave students their 6 weeks grade and let them know how many missing assignments that they had (students were able to see a connection between missing assignments and the grade percentage). Students turned in their RAFTS before the bell and 23 out of 108 students didn't turn them in (this doesn't include those who were absent). Good job to those who turned it in on time! Tomorrow the RAFT is half credit maximum and I won't take it late after that seeing that I gave a day and a half before break and all break to get it done. Students got into their bigger groups to do the jigsaw (the experts taught the rest of the group.) They will have some time tomorrow to finish. No homework.
Math: Finish Math problems
Social Studies: I didn't get a chance to talk with Mr. Colegrove....post in comments if you have homework
Reading: Scholastic News; No homework
English: Students did character comparisons and did questions. Students only had homework if they didn't finish them in class.
Many of us are getting sick or are getting over the "ickies" from break. Be sure to wash your hands frequently and stay away from those who are sick.
