Tuesday:
Today we began the Book Creator I-pad project on the WV Colored Children's Home.
http://coleglass.blogspot.com/ go to this site for the directions. We will work on this through Friday April 3. I will set a due date for the students to e-mail it to me before Friday. It will be worth 110 points.
Science: I'm bbaaaaccckkk! Mrs. Curtis assigned an ecology test for students to do. They were allowed to use their vocabulary as well as their notebooks to complete the test. Students also got started on a worksheet. These are the last two grades that will be from Mrs. Curtis. No homework!
Math 8: work on cell phone project from yesterday. We will continue one more day on this

WV Studies- Today we finished our poster summarizing the 3 topics, Spanish American War, 16,17,18,19th amendments, and WWI worth 30 points, that we started Friday. Then we started our I-pad book creator assignment on the WV Colored Children's Home. We will work on this through Thursday April 3.
Reading: Tomorrow students will begin the Diary of Ann Frank.

Math- Scavenger hunt in Math 8 classes, Test in Math 1.
Reading - Library day.
Science Today we took notes on Biomes.. We will complete those on Monday and play Heads Up in preparation for a test on the vocabulary words for the Ecology Unit on Tuesday. MRS. CONNER WILL BE RETURNING AS OF TUESDAY!!!!!!! YAH!!!!!!

For those who went on the DC trip, great job. Mr. Cunningham (C's up) was proud of you and the way you behaved on the trip.
WV Studies- Today we worked on finishing the progressive era, Making a Graphic Organizer on WWI. Grades are being finalized today for 3rd 9 wks. should show final grade by tomorrow afternoon.
math 8: group activity on solving systems by graphing and substitution
math 1: study guide on unit 4. quiz tomorrow
Language arts: Began short essays/letters to the U.S. government explaining who the students think should have a statue representing WV in the U.S. Capitol. It will be due at the end of class tomorrow unless the student was not here today.

After break, Mr. Whitt and Myself will be on the DC trip. Ms. Marcum, Ms. Holmes and the sub. for Science will be here conducting lessons.
The 9 weeks ends that Tuesday.
WV Studies- today we used the I-pan app. book creator to practice making books, we will be doing another book after break.
We will start blogging again after we return from DC on the 26th of March.

WV Studies- Today we went to the library and outside to see a living history presentation on the Civil War in WV. Tomorrow we will us the I-pad app. book creator to make a book based on the presentation.
Reading: Test Tomorrow.
Math 1: finish u4-135 and it was due at the end of class.
Math 8: group work today practicing solving systems
Tomorrow in both math classes: we will be having a makeup day. Students will be given an Edline print out. They will have assignments highlighted that they are to work on during class and continue over the break. I might have all make up assignments turned in by Monday March 23 at 3:00 pm. If you are gone to DC my email is kbaumann@k12.wv.us and students can email their assignments to me before the deadline
Language: Heavy make up day. Students finished yesterday's assignment, then worked on essays they haven't finished. Any assignments they can turn in need to be turned in tomorrow if at all possible.

Language: Wrote stories and had partners fill in the blanks. Discussed inferences. No homework.

Language arts: Discussed conventions of writing. Analyzed a ballad. No homework.
Math 1: u4-122 was due at the end of class and students read 4.3.3 and practiced examples
Math 8: go over 13-3 from yesterday. Students then did word problems on page 504-506. We did an example on page 504 together then on page 506 students did numbers 16 and 17
Reading: Finish worksheet for vocabulary.
Science: Ms. Curtis has been out 2 days will post tomorrow.

Math 1: practice with graphing calculators on examples problems on unit 4 lesson 3 section 2
Math 8: quiz on graphing and notes on substitution
Language arts: Worked on essays. They are due by the end of class during our next school day... whenever that may be. #SnowDay ... Extra credit was handed out.
Science We worked on the chapter review today. Tomorrow we will check it as a means of preparation for out test on Chapter 5 Friday.
